Glass etching

My cousin Judith got married last month and I wanted to make a keepsake present for her and her new husband.
Below is what I came up with :) (Enlarge the pictures for a better view)

I still want to add a black background so the etching shows better, but I think it looks pretty cool (it better after 4 days of work!)

Tell me what y'all think about this.

Trashy-Fashion

No, it's not what you think..it's "fashion" made out of trash(bags).
This was a few years back (summer of 2007) at an improv "fashion-show" at the Carmelite Sisters in St. Louis, MO during Life Teen's talent-show.
I think I should remake my outfit in the picture below in real fabric..it might be nice :)

Now I see this picture again, I notice the bow reminds me of a project I saw on Abbie's 5 days 5 ways blog --> yet another reason to actually make this outfit, because the tutorial on Abbie's blog looks easy to follow and the finished product super cute!

Tufted ottoman-Part I

Abbie from 5 days 5 ways posted a tutorial on an awesome tufted ottoman she created. The picture of the ottoman below is the finished project. Check out the tutorial here.

When I saw the tutorial, my loving husband and I were just thinking about changing some things in our house to get a bit more color in our interior (we have a lot of dark brown/black furniture) and get a more 'homey' feel to it, so I thought trying this project myself would be wonderful!

For weeks I scouted the Dutch version of craigslist -> Marktplaats.
Eventually I stumbled on the coffee table below.

I thought the dimensions were perfect but when I got it in our living room and piled the foam on top, I thought it was a little too high, so hubby was sweet enough to shorten the legs a little bit

I also bought this wooden, old looking serving tray to use when I finish the ottoman so we can still put our glasses on the table ;)

Tomorrow husband is going to drill the diamond pattern into the table top and after that I'm going to sand the legs and stain them.
After that it's on to the tufting..I'm excited!

Below a sneak peak into the fabric I'm going to use.
I bought some more fabric than necessary to make some matching pillows for the couch..

More pictures to follow :)
