"New" shoes

I was getting my summer-wardrobe out of it's boxes and retiring my winter and pregnancy clothes..so obviously the summer shoes (open backs, open toes, flip flops, sandals etc.) are also coming out :)

I have had these really cute black with beige dots peep toe wedge sandals..

sadly upon getting them out of the box I discovered I must have spilled something on them last summer because  some of the beige dots weren't exactly beige anymore..more like a pinkish color..

but..these shoes are just too cute to retire already..so I thought of a way to save them..and YAY for pink textile markers!

Although I have to admit I liked the beige better..(it was a little more sophisticated and they could be worn with more outfits) I am still really satisfied with the results :)

Nursing dress-I

A while back I ordered something from H&M for baby..and of course I couldn't resist ordering something for myself as well..sadly they didn't sent what I ordered but instead I received this dress

Now I hear you think..what's not good about that...well normally (at least that was the case when before I got pregnant) I'm a 36/38 (4/6 US) and this is a 44 (14 US)..

So it fit when I was pregnant..but the weather really hasn't been good enough..and I really do need to wear leggings with it because the front is looking a little too short for my liking right now :)

So I thought (since baby should be here any day now..and I'll try getting back to my old size)..I'd take it in.
My mom was visiting and saw the dress all pinned on my mannequin and loved it..but also told me I should take into consideration that it's not really handy with breastfeeding..so I'm now on a mission to make it a nursing dress :)
which I have to say is quite challenging..and will probably take me a while (also because I need some supplies which I don't have on hand now..)..so..to be continued :)

Wrap top - II

The wrap top is finished!
I really like the end result (and will model it for you once my belly is not longer there ;))

So to my liking of the day, I can tie around the waist or at the bottom (I made some loopholes for the sash on the back).
I think this will be a very versatile top which I'll really enjoy wearing when it's a little warmer outside..but time will tell: and pics will follow :)

Wrap top

Finally a new post!
I've been slacking..I know..so time to do some sewing and post some stuff :)

I've discovered some great blogs (through Pinterest!) and Whitney from Freshly Given has given me some inspiration.
Her's came from an old LIFE magazine..

so you see how old things come back into fashion again and even though you can be inspired by the same thing, the finished product can be very different.

So there's a sale going on at this discount store. 4 men's t-shirts for E 10,-
I thought that would be great to get me some printed fabric to use for this project (and some others).

I'm using the grey with blue stripes for this project.
I'm basically copying the above with some alterations:
*I though using t-shirt jersey is would be more comfortable (and stretchy).
*I'm not connecting the wrap-tie to the bottom of the shirt but making some loops on the bottom and the middle of the shirt so I can either tie it at the bottom or at the waist.
*Instead of making a V-neck, I'm making a rectangular neck

(I'm thinking the jersey and the adjustable strap will come in handy with the post-pregnancy weight..so I can adjust as needed ;))

and well..I might come up with some other things in the process..
here's what I got so for (just cut and pinned..I still have to get to the sewing..)

to be continued :)
