<span style="font-family: inherit;">she is just so talented and her vintage looks always inspire me :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">A while back Casey posted about a <a href="http://blog.caseybrowndesigns.com/2012/01/two-seam-top/" target="_blank">two-seam top</a> (which I still intend on making)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Someone commented on this post by adding a link to a website with vintage patterns which also had a very similar two-seam top on it..</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I purchased that pattern and still (as I said) want to make it..but then I saw another vintage pattern on that website which intrigued me..<a href="http://shop.bramcostpublications.com/Vintage-1950s-Circle-Bolero-Pattern-1103-SW-CIRCLEBOLERO.htm" target="_blank">the <span style="background-color: white;">Vintage 1950's Circle Bolero Pattern</span></a></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0uNYnRmtVkA_MMg0Ib5pCmAxaTgTom54woCLughQ9jhLcUepSJd9SDhfXzkF89NuFMzOzv78udc2g1aMNaOGUElMz0r4xKy75r7_TZDz6FdPRT4EVZwyBB5yg8D09GBQ9x-y14q8UPo/s1600/Screen+Shot+2012-05-10+at+12.16.26+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM0uNYnRmtVkA_MMg0Ib5pCmAxaTgTom54woCLughQ9jhLcUepSJd9SDhfXzkF89NuFMzOzv78udc2g1aMNaOGUElMz0r4xKy75r7_TZDz6FdPRT4EVZwyBB5yg8D09GBQ9x-y14q8UPo/s320/Screen+Shot+2012-05-10+at+12.16.26+PM.png" width="248" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">So I set out to make it :)</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">After some research online (I'm a cheapskate, I know) I found a picture of the "pattern" (most vintage patterns are more descriptions than patterns anyway)</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgOHFhqd0gM6KyzW5XZit82C4dVf0qToWbDK8N-BBTvFV3tivJxTpf4hDL1sILI9GgUefgx-Xwhz_JIQNnXRb2HEPAK2RrqIiTnGYj08ube2ol5QREuoRYASR0HmGy4olIfJzjbYf_o7E/s1600/circle+bolero.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgOHFhqd0gM6KyzW5XZit82C4dVf0qToWbDK8N-BBTvFV3tivJxTpf4hDL1sILI9GgUefgx-Xwhz_JIQNnXRb2HEPAK2RrqIiTnGYj08ube2ol5QREuoRYASR0HmGy4olIfJzjbYf_o7E/s320/circle+bolero.jpg" width="216" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">So it says to simply cut out two circles (with two smaller circles inside as armholes) and sew them together and add some buttons so you can close the bolero..</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">I thought why go through the trouble of cutting two circles and than sewing them together if I can just cut them out together:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSDcqHForogo6zPcMNy2P3oBbkNzsFvr8lYkqUlCTeQR0KfnFyv6ioEjyMMioXJMii8jFABr5ZvV79nxb3TrIuDEOl1rXpHdcVa5OVjWyBlvIz2mGX6_OGZDAw_M_4UAykZyaMHvJZZRs/s1600/bolero-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSDcqHForogo6zPcMNy2P3oBbkNzsFvr8lYkqUlCTeQR0KfnFyv6ioEjyMMioXJMii8jFABr5ZvV79nxb3TrIuDEOl1rXpHdcVa5OVjWyBlvIz2mGX6_OGZDAw_M_4UAykZyaMHvJZZRs/s320/bolero-1.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">So I just let the circles overlap and only cut the black lines.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">From my stack of grandma's fabric I had some really nice white fabric with white flowers woven into it..so I used that to make the bolero out of..</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Right now I'm still finishing it and adding some personal touches to it..so those pics are still to follow..but I already wanted to share this with y'all..it really shows sewing doesn't have to be complicated..but boy..I wish I would think of things like these :)</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><o:p></o:p></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;">Since I want to nurse baby I figured it would be handy to have some shirts which open in the front..but (of course) I don't like traditional shirts..I think they just look a little bit too formal and stiff..so I decided to change things up a little bit<o:p></o:p></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm;"><br />

So my mom was kind enough to go through it all and supply me with a few boxes full of good stuff (thanks mommy!)<br />
<br />
From this lovely floral fabric I decided to make myself a summer dress (see below)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSktKy1HvvwranSdNDJsNLesIklM9MvZJMFplkXeGuyuugcMy2kEhcuIDEfGa6jA830BDJ5aw4bZCKfHbTXHwD2fSqVzetG12NQ-CF3Q0zd4AiBf6NECX9o4GoxqSdM9b0lEPdfIDQSw/s1600/photo+(8).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSktKy1HvvwranSdNDJsNLesIklM9MvZJMFplkXeGuyuugcMy2kEhcuIDEfGa6jA830BDJ5aw4bZCKfHbTXHwD2fSqVzetG12NQ-CF3Q0zd4AiBf6NECX9o4GoxqSdM9b0lEPdfIDQSw/s320/photo+(8).jpg" width="157" /></a></div><br />
Thanks to my sewing mannequin I draped and pinned and than sewed, rather than using a sewing pattern..let me know what you guys think of the results (obviously you'll have to to with these pics for now..because I am way not skinny enough at this time to model anything like this :))NotFromHollandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04097853388539727513noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8594945733293174078.post-31901965468328058352012-04-30T21:47:00.000+02:002012-04-30T21:47:32.610+02:00"New" shoesI was getting my summer-wardrobe out of it's boxes and retiring my winter and pregnancy clothes..so obviously the summer shoes (open backs, open toes, flip flops, sandals etc.) are also coming out :)<br />
<br />
I have had these really cute black with beige dots peep toe wedge sandals..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMwgEJ0wm5EXYvH08N3t-HD9BafQcd21lEhyTVQRQ_rWMK_bgcePvowbYQ2JlR2_nkZZcx9If2f0-amEAr45NYEw6rSjK2ZMTtApsWc6adNWcF4Xd99dGbpOmCsxGC-L2K0SaQJ9f0IKk/s1600/photo+(5).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMwgEJ0wm5EXYvH08N3t-HD9BafQcd21lEhyTVQRQ_rWMK_bgcePvowbYQ2JlR2_nkZZcx9If2f0-amEAr45NYEw6rSjK2ZMTtApsWc6adNWcF4Xd99dGbpOmCsxGC-L2K0SaQJ9f0IKk/s320/photo+(5).jpg" width="268" /></a></div><br />
<br />
sadly upon getting them out of the box I discovered I must have spilled something on them last summer because some of the beige dots weren't exactly beige anymore..more like a pinkish color..<br />
<br />
but..these shoes are just too cute to retire already..so I thought of a way to save them..and YAY for pink textile markers!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeNQWRSntcdg85nC2VCz957l8B27L7bH18A2CZdMTrazp_vq9QavNdro4Rhtp6HdKjAfwV8z2dPX70y7V3Zy4s66SlchQbbsVk2bsRiMrRcxtmfosqwLpLUbN6yvy6NhLc7foPoiV_cLw/s1600/photo+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeNQWRSntcdg85nC2VCz957l8B27L7bH18A2CZdMTrazp_vq9QavNdro4Rhtp6HdKjAfwV8z2dPX70y7V3Zy4s66SlchQbbsVk2bsRiMrRcxtmfosqwLpLUbN6yvy6NhLc7foPoiV_cLw/s320/photo+(2).jpg" width="159" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now I hear you think..what's not good about that...well normally (at least that was the case when before I got pregnant) I'm a 36/38 (4/6 US) and this is a 44 (14 US)..</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlMyuFFl8_HRTt1sX0zmhKMS-smksI9do1Bub7Wmu-nvmHNrVGTiF6lGTPd-TVuiH1SZ65mSXV4zYFB5kZMuI9WYzXp5NQIRETpYB0z6zeSZsvynema_GHUb17AsXoDSyFwl-2dpJvvDQ/s1600/photo+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlMyuFFl8_HRTt1sX0zmhKMS-smksI9do1Bub7Wmu-nvmHNrVGTiF6lGTPd-TVuiH1SZ65mSXV4zYFB5kZMuI9WYzXp5NQIRETpYB0z6zeSZsvynema_GHUb17AsXoDSyFwl-2dpJvvDQ/s320/photo+(3).jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So it fit when I was pregnant..but the weather really hasn't been good enough..and I really do need to wear leggings with it because the front is looking a little too short for my liking right now :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So I thought (since baby should be here any day now..and I'll try getting back to my old size)..I'd take it in.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My mom was visiting and saw the dress all pinned on my mannequin and loved it..but also told me I should take into consideration that it's not really handy with breastfeeding..so I'm now on a mission to make it a nursing dress :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">which I have to say is quite challenging..and will probably take me a while (also because I need some supplies which I don't have on hand now..)..so..to be continued :)</div>NotFromHollandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04097853388539727513noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8594945733293174078.post-31599041584898695922012-04-26T09:45:00.000+02:002012-04-26T09:45:36.577+02:00Wrap top - IIThe wrap top is finished!<br />
I really like the end result (and will model it for you once my belly is not longer there ;))<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXgTb_pX_414cCYdJpBAHMgJU4nr4Th50KhHRR8TUYlNClwr2_3fjNU-MkkNyFq3ARgk4RhBL3ll6HCi2mLRySmwByGBuOje8r4v5UQpEDVf3KSah5eiK8677FQIXahVwi-EGJr0DvhxY/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXgTb_pX_414cCYdJpBAHMgJU4nr4Th50KhHRR8TUYlNClwr2_3fjNU-MkkNyFq3ARgk4RhBL3ll6HCi2mLRySmwByGBuOje8r4v5UQpEDVf3KSah5eiK8677FQIXahVwi-EGJr0DvhxY/s320/photo+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So to my liking of the day, I can tie around the waist or at the bottom (I made some loopholes for the sash on the back).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I think this will be a very versatile top which I'll really enjoy wearing when it's a little warmer outside..but time will tell: and pics will follow :) </div>NotFromHollandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04097853388539727513noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8594945733293174078.post-68252693093513178282012-04-24T12:32:00.001+02:002012-04-24T12:40:15.861+02:00Wrap topFinally a new post!<br />
I've been slacking..I know..so time to do some sewing and post some stuff :)<br />
<br />
I've discovered some great blogs (through Pinterest!) and Whitney from <a href="http://freshlygiven.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/oldCombo.jpg" target="_blank">Freshly Given</a> has given me some inspiration.<br />
Her's came from an old LIFE magazine..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://freshlygiven.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/oldWrap3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://freshlygiven.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/oldWrap3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><a href="http://freshlygiven.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/oldCombo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://freshlygiven.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/oldCombo.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">so you see how old things come back into fashion again and even though you can be inspired by the same thing, the finished product can be very different.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">So there's a sale going on at this discount store. 4 men's t-shirts for E 10,-</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">I thought that would be great to get me some printed fabric to use for this project (and some others).</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkxRurwWXlHadarIRgrD6okSkLJQbDPdhFnjFb5NOCZ_jaip8q7hkUtZyHcw2R5we1Ik-oaFDeMYv9_rLHb00TQA_x28O2i_Q3CocgKGggKFKj75gp_9jpvnbKIpJBP5t0Bp9S8L2lbnQ/s1600/shirts.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkxRurwWXlHadarIRgrD6okSkLJQbDPdhFnjFb5NOCZ_jaip8q7hkUtZyHcw2R5we1Ik-oaFDeMYv9_rLHb00TQA_x28O2i_Q3CocgKGggKFKj75gp_9jpvnbKIpJBP5t0Bp9S8L2lbnQ/s320/shirts.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">I'm using the grey with blue stripes for this project.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">I'm basically copying the above with some alterations:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">*I though using t-shirt jersey is would be more comfortable (and stretchy).</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">*I'm not connecting the wrap-tie to the bottom of the shirt but making some loops on the bottom and the middle of the shirt so I can either tie it at the bottom or at the waist.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">*Instead of making a V-neck, I'm making a rectangular neck</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">(I'm thinking the jersey and the adjustable strap will come in handy with the post-pregnancy weight..so I can adjust as needed ;))</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">and well..I might come up with some other things in the process..</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">here's what I got so for (just cut and pinned..I still have to get to the sewing..)</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwMjzoT81G11C4_falh3MYkA3cinzv08ACCtsqc8HaDHV4Sfg_OUCVkTuCMaA00awF7TuhFSnh4u8-o3kur0bNU5KVPTgJqfkRYGUCZIcbWgVxSAPI4FIK6X-nAxTX9XXOdvbI4GXBJ50/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwMjzoT81G11C4_falh3MYkA3cinzv08ACCtsqc8HaDHV4Sfg_OUCVkTuCMaA00awF7TuhFSnh4u8-o3kur0bNU5KVPTgJqfkRYGUCZIcbWgVxSAPI4FIK6X-nAxTX9XXOdvbI4GXBJ50/s320/photo.JPG" width="273" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">to be continued :)</span></div>NotFromHollandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04097853388539727513noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8594945733293174078.post-6254353316385761132011-08-10T00:24:00.001+02:002011-08-10T00:24:52.492+02:00Glass etchingMy cousin Judith got married last month and I wanted to make a keepsake present for her and her new husband.<br />
Below is what I came up with :) (Enlarge the pictures for a better view)<br />
<br />
I still want to add a black background so the etching shows better, but I think it looks pretty cool (it better after 4 days of work!)<br />

The picture of the ottoman below is the finished project. Check out the tutorial <a href="http://www.fivedaysfiveways.com/2011/07/diy-tufted-ottoman.html#dsq-form-area-261550067">here</a>.<br />
<br />
<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBF3YVzthjB56P2lm5AvT1cGblyOotrDViSMNhzAJA3EXxowO_IYSFtyBLrLZeA9w9ykIfb4urqQLOTr_fG1ROTQUdq_dbebi2uWdDziJ6HREeNgFNCGcX4fSq055hKi0m5XEXZLhcBoo/s1600/photo+1-737487.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBF3YVzthjB56P2lm5AvT1cGblyOotrDViSMNhzAJA3EXxowO_IYSFtyBLrLZeA9w9ykIfb4urqQLOTr_fG1ROTQUdq_dbebi2uWdDziJ6HREeNgFNCGcX4fSq055hKi0m5XEXZLhcBoo/s320/photo+1-737487.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5638224066500108466" /></a></p><br />
When I saw the tutorial, my loving husband and I were just thinking about changing some things in our house to get a bit more color in our interior (we have a lot of dark brown/black furniture) and get a more 'homey' feel to it, so I thought trying this project myself would be wonderful!<br />
<br />
For weeks I scouted the Dutch version of craigslist -> Marktplaats.<br />
Eventually I stumbled on the coffee table below.<br />

I thought the dimensions were perfect but when I got it in our living room and piled the foam on top, I thought it was a little too high, so hubby was sweet enough to shorten the legs a little bit<br />

I also bought this wooden, old looking serving tray to use when I finish the ottoman so we can still put our glasses on the table ;)<br />

Tomorrow husband is going to drill the diamond pattern into the table top and after that I'm going to sand the legs and stain them.<br />
After that it's on to the tufting..I'm excited!<br />
<br />
Below a sneak peak into the fabric I'm going to use.<br />
I bought some more fabric than necessary to make some matching pillows for the couch..<br />

More pictures to follow :)NotFromHollandhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04097853388539727513noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8594945733293174078.post-77058081162298882212011-07-27T09:39:00.000+02:002011-07-27T09:39:57.116+02:00Summer hatBoth my sister and I aren't particularly tall (5'4" and 5'5") thus this summer's maxi dress rage is a little bit diffucult because in almost all dresses it looks like we're drowning. However, my sis bought two super cute maxi dresses and asked me to shorten them for her. (If I get her to model them for me I'll share with you later.)<br />
To go with the whole theme (might I add, although it is almost August, it feels like fall over here..rain every single day and we should be happy if the temp. gets up to 70F, so it's safe to say I am hoping like crazy warmer days are still to come..luckily for my sister, she gets to go to Portugal on Saturday (and enjoy some sunshine there)) mom bought her a cute little sun hat. Since I thought the hat needed something extra and I had a few inches of fabric left over from shortening my sisters maxi dresses, I added a bow, or well I gave my sister some options (see below; and yes at this time pins are holding everything together and the third option still needs a vertical piece of fabric in the middle). As soon as she decides which option she likes best I'll finish it and show you some pictures (together with the dress).<br />
<br />
##Update: my sister has informed me it'll be the first option, so a picture of the finished product will follow tonight!<br />
<br />
On a different note, I also made a matching headband and a belt out of the remaining fabric (also to be shown later this week) <br />

Unlike PS I made this I decided to weave 3 strands and tighten it.<br />

I made this ribbon necklace to attach it to (I however can also connect it to something else)<br />
Than I spool knit this blue ribbon bracelet to match<br />

My maiden name starts with an H and since I was working with clay that day (making beads for bracelets, which I will post about later) I decided to try to use one of my wax stamps used for making seals on the clay and make a monogram keychain..and it worked out great (but since I've used it for about 4 years already the H is worn down a little) <br />

As part of my re-fashion or donate to GW project, I decided to turn the shirt into a cardigan and added some trim (which I salvaged from a skirt I never wore anymore). I also made a little corsage to either wear on the cardigan or in my hair..and (yeah!) now I like wearing it again :)<br />

The cup is a Blond original. The plates (from the same tea set I used for the sweetner pot) were painted to match and serve to serve tiny cakes and cookies on :)<br />

Blond is a Dutch brand with some awesome stuff (check out the website at <a href="http://www.blond-amsterdam.nl/">www.blond-amsterdam.nl</a><a href="http://www.blond-amsterdam.nl/"></a>). Sadly it's a bit expensive. Anyhow. I got the sugar pot below for my birthday last year (along with some other Blond items) and since my mom doesn't use sugar but sweetner (in small tablet form) I decided to make a smaller version of the sugar pot (the sweetner pot..how original..) I used a sugar pot from a little tea set for children and painted it to match :) (for all you non Dutchies, the top says "zoetjes" = sweetner)<br />

It however didn't have the right colors, so I hand painted it the right color and added some more hair (on top of the head ;)) and painted that the right color as well.<br />
<br />
Love you JJ and very proud of you!<br />

It however is a difficult color and has too much cleavage for my liking. Also, since it was a halter dress and most of my bras aren't halter or strapless the straps were constantly showing which I didn't find very charming. So I decided to turn it into a dress with "normal" knotted straps, add some ruffles to disguise the cleavage and add a vintage inspired skinny belt, and now I'm loving wearing this dress again! <br />

I was spool knitting, or well I actually found my old spool (a little puppet) and thought I'd give it a try again. After using some wool I thought I could also try with something else..the result is this ring.. <br />
